Happy Monday!! I get that MOST people LOATHE Mondays, but it’s quite possibly my favorite day of the week. New week. New possibilities. It’s rather exciting.
I decided that every couple-friendship-lovers-what have yous have often had the conversation “I don’t know, what do you want to watch?” “I don’t care, why don’t you pick!” And this goes ON and ON and ON until you end up re-watching the same TV show you’ve known forever and can quote every line to. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing…but here’s my list..
Of my FAVORITE MOVIES that MAY BE POSSIBLY OVERLOOKED AND NOT AS WELL-KNOWN.
Please keep in mind that Tommy Boy and Silence of the Lambs are two of my favorite films. This list isn’t for that. It’s not for the movies you’ve always loved or movies that have become box office hits. These are those movies you may have scrolled past on Netflix and didn’t realize that they were possibly GLORIOUS.
- Sleeping with Other People
This is currently one of my FAVORITE movies. I find their chemistry adorably contagious. I love the cast, the plot, and I could EASILY be in the mood to watch this film again and again.
I love all the characters in this movie! It’s the dynamic between husband and wife when having a child as well as the dynamic that is created among you and your friends when you become parents. It’s funny. It’s real. It’s good.
3. Begin Again
This movie is MAGIC. The songs in this film are so beautifully sung and well-written. I went out and bought the CD the same week I saw this film in theaters. The cast is incredible. I’ve seen this movie more times than I can count. It would be a serious shame if you overlooked this film.
This is your not-so-stereotypical boy meets girl film. It’s that innocence of meeting a great person for the first time, being vulnerable, and being genuinely happy to be in the company of someone who truly understands you. (The couple is also a couple in real life and that makes me OH SO HAPPY)
This movie just came out this past Christmas and I must have watched it at least 5 times! It has Haley from One Tree Hill (Bethany Joy Lenz), it follows the typical plot line of do-gooder girl meets go-with-the-flow boy and together is..ahh..magic. I love their dynamic. It’s a super cute movie and brings me a lot of joy (pun intended.)
This is just a cute unique little movie! They are forced to get to know each other on a deeper level. I also just have a soft spot for any movie with Miles Teller in it. I have no idea why!
This is a great movie and possibly the most well-known movie in this list, but I had to include it! The cast is amazing! A single mom and her sister become cleaners for crime scenes, which leads to a surprisingly good movie.
I have always loved this movie! A story of a single mother and how she creates a beautiful life for herself. It’s about love, friendship, loss, it has it all!
This is a romantic comedy with the most adorable cast ever! Paul Rudd writes an awful letter to his girlfriend and ends up on a crazy road trip with Reese Witherspoon in order to get the letter before his girl has a chance to read it. It’s funny. It’s sweet. I promise you’ll like it!
10. Garden State
This movie is wonderfully written, has a great cast, is unlike anything you’ve ever seen and hands down one of our favorite movies in our household.
I hope you enjoyed this list!
